چکیده
Healthy coastal sabkhas (sabkha is an Arabic term for a salt flat) offer plenty of ecosystem services including climate change mitigation. However, fewer research studies were conducted at compared to other marshes. This study was in total ten sabkha sites with different vegetation covers along the southern Red Sea coast Saudi Arabia. The main objectives model and predict distribution volumetric soil organic carbon (SOC) density (kg C/m3) cumulative SOC stocks C/m2) using three mathematic functions (allometric, exponential, sigmoid) based on sampled observed (C) data (total 125 cores = 1250 samples). Sigmoid function showed greatest fit predicting over profile depth mean Adj. R2 0.9978, 0.9611, 0.9623 cover >25–50, >50–75, >75–100%, respectively. For modeling stocks, both validation indices p t-test confirmed that exponential most appropriate be used stock among covers. Moreover, assessing topsoil concentration factors (TCFs) content impacted great extent by sabkhas. Sampling parameter interest estimate constrained time cost. Therefore, promising mapping regional global spatial scales.

Preliminary Assessment of Water Quality along the Red Sea Coast near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
This paper presents the results of preliminary assessment of water quality along Red Sea coast adjoining Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Jeddah is a major city with a population of over 2.6 million and an area 1,200 km. To study the impacts, samples of the Red Sea were collected from 24 important locations near Jeddah and analyzed in the laboratory for various water quality parameters. These parameters i...
متن کاملMetal pollution records in core sediments of some Red Sea coastal areas, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In the last three decades, the industrial and human activities in the coastal area of Saudi Arabia have increased dramatically and resulted in the continuous invasion of different types of pollutants including heavy metals. Seven sediment cores were collected from three major industrialized areas; Jeddah, Rabigh and Yanbu, along the coast of Saudi Arabia to determine the spatial and temporal di...
متن کاملDepth-distribution patterns and control of soil organic carbon in coastal salt marshes with different plant covers
This study was carried out in three kinds of salt marshes according to the vegetation covers, including Phragmites australis salt marsh (PSM), Suaeda salus salt marsh (SSM) and Tamarix chinensis-Suaeda salus salt marsh (TSSM). We applied allometric function, exponential function and logistic function to model the depth distribution of the SOCv and SOCc for each salt marsh, respectively. The res...

the present study sought to investigate the role of dynamic assessment (da) in improvement of iranian efl writing performance at different language proficiency levels. to this end, after conducting the quick placement test, 60 iranian efl learners were assigned to two groups with different language proficiency levels. in both groups each participant wrote two compositions, one before and one af...
Modeling Soil Organic Carbon at Regional Scale by Combining Multi-Spectral Images with Laboratory Spectra
There is a great challenge in combining soil proximal spectra and remote sensing spectra to improve the accuracy of soil organic carbon (SOC) models. This is primarily because mixing of spectral data from different sources and technologies to improve soil models is still in its infancy. The first objective of this study was to integrate information of SOC derived from visible near-infrared refl...
